This post is about Takeru’s very lengthy route in the original game.I played his route first because having watched the anime first, I REALLY wanted to see what he was like in the game. And what did I find out? He literally is an asshole. Like big time. He makes it really really hard for Yui to befriend him.

It all starts off with Yui being swept away from her home after coming in contact with a Takerugame1box containing a sword in her home. She ends up in a throne room and a young blonde haired boy in royal dress greets her. He tells her that he is Zeus and in comes long dialogue. He wants her to teach the gods about humans and love. Yui is shown around the school by Thoth, and they run into Hades, who is not so happy to be there. Thoth shows Yui to her dorm and shoves her in. He basically blows her off at that point, not interested in any questions Yui may have for him.

Yui wanders around the schoolyard and…in comes Loki. Loki approached Yui happily and starts talking to her. Seeing that this is Loki, you know nothing good is coming out of his. He has markers in his hands and asks if Yui wants to see something. Yui is unsure of this, while Loki grabs her hand and runs with her. They see Takeru sprawled out in the grass and Loki wants to cause trouble. Takeru wakes up to see Loki and the markers in his hand. Takeru explodes with anger and starts letting Loki have it. Once Loki basically gets bored, he runs off, leaving Yui with Takeru. Takeru asks if she’s friends with Loki and when she tells him that she’s human, Takeru tells her he’s not interested and to basically leave him alone.

Yui decides that she wants to help Takeru after Zeus has a discussion with her. Every day she tries to get Takeru to class. When he refuses, Zeus comes in and thunder claps. Yui knew it wasn’t good. Zeus zaps Takeru with lightning, or attempts to, as Yui shields him from it. Yui wakes up in the infirmary and she finds Hades, Thor, Takeru and Loki in IMG-3669there as well. This is actually when she is introduced to Dionysus, and she even says he seems to have gotten the brunt of Zeus’ lightning. So with that happening, Hades finds it would be more troublesome to keep getting zapped with lightning, or being bugged by Zeus, then to go to classes. After saying that, the others decide to go as well.

Yui feels like she’s accomplished something at least. After they all head to the classroom, Yui discusses club activities. Takeru is asleep, Hades is looking out the window, etc. Yui has them write down ideas for the clubs. The only person to actually write something down is Hades, and it’s astronomy. It’s this point where you can decide where to go. You takeru-totsuka-kamigami-no-asobi-anime-1920x1080can go with Loki, Hades or Takeru. But you have to pick the option of club activities instead of student council, in which those will be the routes for Apollon, Tsukito and Balder. I won’t bore with details but Yui shows Takeru around, and he looks at all the sports he could take part in. Enter Loki. He causes so much trouble that he starts calling Takeru a thug. Out comes Takeru’s huge potty mouth and he turns into his god form. Yui is able to calm him down (if you pick the right option, you will get a point). You have to get a certain amount of points for his route to become a love route.

After the gods settle on clubs, they decide to have a sports competition on who gets the club room. The teams are Takeru, Hades and Loki, while Apollon, Tsukito and Balder on the other team. Thor doesn’t participate for some reason, and Dionysus…LOL… he is sitting on the bleachers and Yui asks why he isn’t participating. He says he is and cheers649454 “Go! Go!”. LOL.  So each god competes with the other god from their mythology. Apollon is against Hades, Tsukito against Takeru and Loki against Balder. Takeru has to run and grab a red bean bun that’s hanging up in the air. Takeru has the speed, as he’s a really athletic god, but he’s very short. Standing at 5’4, he has trouble. Tsukito is able to grab a bun with no problem, but he is much slower. Takeru keeps trying, swearing the whole time as he gets flustered. He finally gets it and charges up the path, and Yui describes him running so fast he was so close to the ground.

Takeru’s team wins the sports event, and they even get trophies. Takeru is so happy, he even talks to Yui rather nicely. That doesn’t last long though. Yui starts pursuing Takeru to try and communicate with him, and she finds him exercising on the roof of the school. He completely ignores her, and walks away. If you choose to grab his arm, he’ll glare at Yui and walk away…after being startled by her touch. Yui doesn’t give up, she never does, and that’s what makes her such a strong character compared to others in otome games. The next day she goes up to the roof, and she brings him a bento box with sushi inside. She tells him she brought lunch and he basically tells her he isn’t hungry. She pushes for him to eat, and hands him the bento box, but he yells at her and slaps her hand, knocking the bento out of her hand and onto the ground. Takeru shows more emotion at this point, and it really seems he feels bad for what he did. He tells Yui just to go sit somewhere else.

Melissa gives Yui advice, telling her that if Takeru didn’t want to be found, he would change the location where he hangs out at. So the next day, Yui attempts fate, and heads up to the roof. Takeru is there, exercising. Yui calls out to him, rather loudly, and Takeru responds to her! He tells her that he knew she was there, and not to yell so loud. This is Takegame7major progress with Takeru. Yui asks him if he’s joined a club yet, and obviously not. She talks about clubs where there is physical activity. She mentions kendo, which interests Takeru almost instantly. Takeru is still not interested in joining a club, but he challenges her to basically a kendo match. He says if she wins, he’ll join a club, if he does, never talk about it again. Yui wins…but pretty much by a scratch. Takeru almost gets her, but she loses her footing and almost falls. Takeru stops his attacks and waits for her. Yui charges back at him and they go at it again. They finally stop, and Takeru tells her that she won, and there was a little scratch by his ear. He tells her to meet him early the next morning to work on her strengthening skills. He looks behind her and tells her to watch out for the equipment that she almost fell into.

So they start exercising every day, and Yui and Takeru get closer and closer. They take a break and Takeru looks at Yui and says she has dirt on her and he rubs at it, telling her it ruins her cute face. Once it’s done, he gives her a smile. The next day, a student approaches Yui, and starts well…harassing her. She tries to refuse politely and then all of a sudden Takeru, who has told Yui he’d look after her, he comes out of nowhere and beats the living hell out of the student. It turns out Zeus set up a test to see if Takeru made any progress. Takeru is upset that he is still violent and Yui talks to him privately, and tells him he has changed since she first met him.

Yui decides that there should be a training camp, and she talks about it with Takeru. Her thought is if they are able to do that…she’d have more time with Takeru. Takeru is completely happy with the idea, and he wants to go as soon as they can. Soon enough Takegame8they all have a break and go to training camps. Takeru invites Tsukito, his brother without telling Yui, and apologizes because he thought he read somewhere that a guy shouldn’t stay in the same house/bed with a girl unless they are married. Yui is caught by surprise. As soon as they get to the dojo, Takeru starts practicing with Yui as soon as they get there.

After running, Yui comes back to Tsukito cooking, or attempting to cook dinner for them. Failing that, Takeru tells Tsukito to go write his novel and he would finish cooking. IMG-3266Dinner turns out to be a success, and Tsukito goes out to watch the moon. Takeru and Yui talk for a while and Yui realizes there is only one bed. Takeru tells her he doesn’t need it and will sleep on the floor. Of course, Yui feels bad and comes up with the idea to spread out the blanket, that way Tsukito will be able to sleep as well later on. Takeru agrees, and watches Yui crawl cautiously on the bed. He asks why she is so far away from him, and he tells her he won’t do anything to her. Yui then discovers he not only talks, but also turns in his sleep. He whispers sweet nothings in her ear pretty much and we get to see a beautiful loving side of this hot-headed god.

They wake up early the next morning to look at the sunrise and Yui mentions the sunrise, and because it’s about gods in general, Takeru is once again in a foul mood. He tells Yui he wants to go back and he walks away. Yui turns and she starts to fall. Takeru Takerugame10sees this and goes after her, changing into his god form to get her on time. He ends up hurting her unintentionally and he takes Yui to see Thoth. Yui tries to reason with Zeus after the incident, and Takeru had told Yui before he would take the blame. Zeus suspends Takeru from school, which upsets both Yui and Takeru.

So this happened and Yui is pretty sad and missing Takeru. Their Kendo club is canceled and Takeru begins avoiding Yui again. She tries to approach him but he seems uncomfortable around her. After a few more tries, Yui seems to have given up after Takeru yells at her that nothing will work. Yui talks with Tsukito, who says Takeru tends to walk on the beach when his emotions are bothered. Yui asks Tsukito if he could let her know when Takeru goes to the beach again. Tsukito keeps his word and tells her, causing Yui to run out of the classroom.

Yui finds him collecting seashells and stands there for a moment. You have three options IMG-3435but the option to pick the really good love route, is to call his name. She startles him, and he seems happy to see her, and asks why she is there. Yui tells him she can’t do any kendo without him, and she wants him to come back. Takeru listens to her, and admits he wants to come back to class. He says he can’t. Takeru decides it was time to tell Yui about his past and how he killed a goddess He talks about the sea shells and together they collect some.Yui finds a shell and Takeru said it was a perfect shell. So Yui surprises him and gives it to him. Their hands touch and both of them blush furiously. Takeru feels like he owes her something, and gives her a shell in return. People will automatically think Takeru is a complete jerk at first, and why would Yui even try to date Takeru. It’s these moments… the ones that show Takeru’s tender side, that makes the player change their mind.

Yui and Takeru go talk to Zeus and Thoth even admits his own negligence in keeping an eye on the students. Zeus creates a test for Takeru where he must climb to the top of a mountain by night time. Takeru seems disheartened at first when he sees the distance, but he goes for it anyway. Yui goes along with him and as they make their way up, IMG-3267Takeru feels like it’s no use. He is basically about to give up and Yui tries to keep him going. They get into an argument and Yui says something hurtful and she goes on ahead without him. Yui starts getting tired and she stumbles and falls down a hill, losing her shoe in the process. She doesn’t know what to do. Takeru is calling out to her and he finds her. He carries her all the way up and by the time they make it to the top, to Takeru and Yui’s dismay, Zeus says he failed the test for not making it on time.

Takeru falls to the ground, beginning to cry. Oh yeah, he’s a very sensitive guy too. Takeru says what Zeus wanted to hear all along. That he realized being angry all the time IMG-3284(1)was not the best thing, he blamed others for his situation as an outcast. Takeru realizes he needs to change and for those to get closer to him, he needed to open up. Takeru tells Zeus he has Yui and has goals for graduation. Zeus, happy to hear Takeru realizes he needed to change, allows him back to school.

Takeru and Yui meet on the roof of the school for the last day of the kendo club.  This is after Thoth asked Yui if she wanted to return to her world or go with Takeru. Yui quickly responds that she wants to go with Takeru. Yui and Takeru share their feelings on how sad it was that being in the school was ending. Yui asks if it’s okay if she goes with him to his world, and Takeru looks shocked and tells her there’s no way that can happen. She tells him what Thoth said and Takeru is beyond thrilled with the news. He admitted that he had the thought of kidnapping her.

Yui ends up in his world, where they fight off monsters. Takeru asks Yui if she had regrets leaving her world to be with him, and she said no. Both don’t ever want to be apart from one another.Yui tells Takeru she loves him,and Takeru declares he’ll love her until the day he dies. It’s such a beautiful story line. We see this Japanese god with a scary temper in the beginning, changing into this tender, caring and loving god after meeting Yui. Comparing it to his route in Infinite: This one is far, far better and it really goes into much detail of who Takeru is. New players that start with Infinite don’t get to experience the six main gods like the original. I would recommend playing the original first so you will at least know more about the Greeks, Norse and Japanese gods.
