This is the Takeru route in Kamigami no Asobi: Infinite. He is depicted really different in this game for some reason; he doesn’t come off as much Tsundere as he did in the anime and the original game. So this is something that really doesn’t make sense. You can only play the other Gods routes once you finish the main characters. So in this instance, you would have to complete at least one route from Akira (Amaterasu).

Once you get to unlock the Japanese gods, you have to play through three parts called Japanese Mythology. So as Yui, you spend a lot of time with both Takeru (Susanoo) and Tsukito (Tsukuyomi). Yui spends a good amount of time at the library and in the guys’ dorm getting to know them. At one point in the game it’ll split off and you can choose between Takeru and Tsukito.

Takeru comes across a sweetheart in his route, which I said before, is not quite like him. Toshiyuki Toyonaga has always been good at tsundere characters… Takeru is definitely my favorite character voiced by him. Yui and Takeru spend time together, getting to know one another. They take a walk in the woods and come across water. There is a huge splash and they take a stumble in the water. Takeru kisses her by accident, and he wants to become her boyfriend. Yui agrees.

The whole way it’s written…I don’t know. The way they wrote Takeru’s route is really rushed and his manners don’t seem to match how he was portrayed before. It doesn’t make sense. I still love the route, don’t get me wrong. It’s Broccoli itself that is to blame for that.  For example, in both first game and the anime, Takeru is extremely unapproachable and is a really, really nasty person. All of a sudden Yui can easily talk to him in Infinite. It shouldn’t be that way.

Anyway, Takeru comes across very happy and eager to spend time with Yui. The other gods, especially Apollon seems to acknowledge the two together. Yui doesn’t seem quite comfortable, only because she feels Takeru only asked her to be his girlfriend due to the accidental kiss.

This route, just like the others, is a heart-wrenching route. The soundtrack, despite how beautiful it is, doesn’t help. I turn the music off, simply because I end up crying LOL. Takeru seems to get upset because Yui pushes him away from his advances.

Takeru asks Yui to go with him at night to the beach, and she accepts it. He reveals his true form to Yui, and takes her under the water. The CG is so beautiful! Yui seems to enjoy this time with Takeru, and then they get out of the water. It’s then Takeru talks to her, and he says he knows that she loves his brother, Tsukito. This hurts Yui, and she cries to Takeru, telling him that she only loves him. Takeru is surprised by this, but he is really happy that she feels that way about him.

After that night, they go back to the school and it’s fairly obvious that Takeru and Yui are officially a couple. Takeru gets a bit defensive, as he should and he takes Yui on an actual date to the beach. This is at the end of his route, where he slips her some tongue! The end is rushed where Yui is taken back to her home; this time Zeus doesn’t make an appearance much except for the beginning. It shows Yui standing outside, and there is a voice calling out to her. Takeru shows up, surprising her, and apparently they live happily ever after.
