I’ll be clear right now. I had just started watching Naruto Shippuden on Toonami a long time ago. I hadn’t kept up with it because of the fact that the station constantly moves the anime shows around, and will put older series back to 2:00-3:00 am; which I can’t really do
because of…occasional work. But I have been able to watch Boruto, and although it’s not the same, I have developed a fondness for Sasuke. He comes across as a jerk sometimes, but he is trying his hardest at this point in his life.
Sasuke, from what I have researched, seemed to be a really, really big jerk while growing up; but he seemed okay as a kid. But because I really like Sasuke as a character now, I figured why not look into a figure of him.
I can only assume this is a pre-teen Sasuke or possibly a teen Sasuke, because he certainly doesn’t look the child version. This is another Banpresto figure, and unlike the My Hero Academia figures
which you put together yourself, Sasuke was already put together. All you have to do is put him on the stand and place his sword in his hand.
I love the detailing of the cord, and the coloring. It really stands out in comparison to the rest of the outfit he is wearing. His whole outfit is beautifully colored, and I like how detailed the folds/creases are in the clothing.
He doesn’t really have a typical scowl on his face, which I have noticed he had in his young-teen to teenaged years. His expression is serious, but it comes across as relaxed, and not angry or irritated.
There is only one flaw in the figure and that is the paint marks on the
outfit. It’s a darker color paint, so you can see it almost right away. Other than that, there is really nothing else wrong with it. What I have noticed is that these 19.99+ figures that don’t go up past 30.00 dollars have a slightly higher chance in having some kind of paint flaw.
I’m not saying every single one will be bad; and to be honest, the ones I have gotten with paint marks haven’t been too noticeable. Sasuke is the only one that has it worse than any of the other figures.
His pose is plain, but holding the sword and looking to the side kind of helps take away a bit of that.
His hair. In general I tend to like anime fellas with spiky hair, and Sasuke is not any different. His spiky hair is nicely detailed, and I
really like how Banpresto always seems to get hairstyles down to the exact (or very close to) likeness of the actual hair.
The skin coloring is about even; I hadn’t seen anything that stood out of place with the figure. Even with his shoulder bared, you can see that it’s pretty nicely painted.
The likeness of Sasuke itself may not be completely perfect, but you can tell it is him. I think sometimes some sculptors have a hard time getting the face right, and so when they get to the point in painting it over; it doesn’t look 100%.
With all that said, I still recommend this figure to anyone who likes
Sasuke and hasn’t gotten this particular one yet. For the most part, Banpresto hasn’t really had a bad figure. If I had to rate it; I would give it an 8 out of 10. It’s honestly not that bad for a less expensive anime figure.
