My Hero Academia has been a huge success for awhile now. Banpresto has been excellent at releasing several different figures, and they aren’t stopping any time soon. I have just received my Deku figure “Amazing Heroes, Volume One”, and it’s actually quite nice.

I had gotten Todoroki “Amazing Heroes, Volume 2” a while back at a Hot Topic, and I don’t know if the different volumes are sized differently or not but Deku is smaller than Todoroki. I know in the series Deku had always been kind of a runt compared to the other students, but the size difference is noticeable.

Deku’s facial expression is fiercer than the most recent Todoroki figure I had purchased, which is pretty much what Deku is like in the series. They’ve captured his likeness even more.

I should add they even included his freckles, and they are darkened so you can see them. His hair has different shades of green in it, which makes the figure itself stand out more. His suit has details as well, creases in areas there should be creases, and those really work with how Deku is positioned. That is one thing I always wondered about: is how the sculptors know exactly where to put clothing creases, or any other detail onto the figure. Because in most instances the details look amazing.

His action pose is quite good and the stand actually holds him up pretty well. There is a smaller pole to connect to the stand that helps support his right leg.

The price was reasonable for what you get. He’s not as big as other Deku figures I’ve seen, or as detailed as the expensive Deku’s; but it would be a nice addition to anyone’s MHA collection. I haven’t seen any flaws or paint marks on this figure as well. This is one thing you’ll never know until you get the figure home. Sometimes it’s better to go to a convention and see displays at dealer’s booths. But again, there is always a chance of buying a box with paint marks or missing piece. Missing pieces I haven’t come across yet and I don’t think that’s a huge issue people have in most cases.

Deku in general has amazing hair. It’s not like other hairstyles you’d see on other anime guys. It’s kind of a mix between wavy and spiky, and the figure details it nicely. His hair kind of flows in the air to match up his pose. This is another instance where I am impressed by how these figures are made: How they are able to create the hair style and capture it perfectly.

I’m pretty sure many people already have this figure, but if you do not have this one in particular, it’s worth investing in. He won’t take up *that* much space on a shelf. He is about the size of an average anime figure, but looks smaller when he’s next to Todoroki. You can find Deku on Amazon for $19.99, and if you happen to have prime, it’ll be free shipping.
