There are so many issues with this Mikasa figure, it’s hard to pick which one to start with. First off, the figure came with a base to stand on. Mikasa never stays standing up; IMG-9823meaning the base is poorly made and will not hold her up for a very long time. There have been complaints on Amazon, in which many ordered the item and receive it in pieces. In fact, 37 percent of the buyers have given it 2 stars only. So that gives you an idea on what people think of it. It’s ticketed at 19.99 and I suppose for the price, it’s okay because her uniform is detailed nicely.

It was purchased too, because I had bought McFarlane figures before, and they were actually nicely done. Seeing all the issues Mikasa has, I’m actually surprised by the company.  Another problem with the figure, is Mikasa’s pose. As mentioned, the one foot that has a slot to connect to the base, doesn’t stay in for very long. The other foot swings front and back and then Mikasa will fall. Her face is just okay; it’s not great. There is a slight resemblance there to recognize who she is.

Another complaint. The equipment and her hands. Mikasa’s hands cannot, I repeat, CANNOT, hold the blades. You can try to squeeze the handles in, but there is a high IMG-9825chance her hands will break. It’s disappointing because it looks like a nice figure when you look at the packaging, but when you open the box and take her out; it’s kind of like: Why did I buy this?

She has her scarf, so at least McFarlane didn’t skimp out on her accessories. I honestly don’t think they tested her hands with the equipment. Otherwise they most likely would have fixed the problem.

Lastly, the blades themselves. If you are trying place the handles in Mikasa’s hands, the blades will once in awhile slip out of the handles. Meaning you will have to IMG-9829spend extra time fighting with the things to get them back together. You can’t place them in the holders at all, which are for the most part, decoration only. At least with the Yuuki figure, you can have her hold the sword, or place it in the sheath. Now someone may say, “It’s 19.99, what do you expect?” That’s very true, but when it was announced McFarlane was releasing this, there was huge hype about it. I don’t know if they rushed the product or not, but it’s definitely not worth the money. You most likely find Mikasa somewhere else, with better quality and better detail. Even if it’s close to $30.00, those are more of a hit than this one.  Don’t waste your money.
