It’s true; I am super in love with this anime. It’s not as mainstream as others so I get to enjoy it without the super madness of fans arguing about who is better than who, etc. I think it is popular with girls…I mean come on, the gods are freaking sexy as hell. I think Broccoli/Brains Base did this on purpose. Anyway, my review is about the music.

The music is just wonderful; it really is. Especially the soundtrack to the game. It is full of feels and there are four small dramas featuring the gods. Of course in the game, you play IMG-0447Yui yourself, so the dramas focus on the boys, and not Yui. The best one is Loki and Takeru. Loki taunts Takeru to the point that he starts yelling at Loki. Yoshimasa Hosoya is incredible…he really is. All the instrumentals on the CD are from the game.  The CDs weren’t that hard to find really. I found some on Amazon, and the ones that were sold out on Amazon, I found on eBay. Ah, eBay…everyone’s friend. The soundtrack isn’t the only CD to come out. I should add too, that some of the music on this is actually in the anime as well.

Character CDS

Each god has a song that they sing on CDs. Kamigami no Asobi: Infinite released new songs from all the Gods. Akira and Thor have songs on one disc, Melissa and Dionysus onIMG-0452 another. While the other gods sing together and the CD includes a drama and instrumental, or others just have instrumental versions of their songs.

You don’t necessarily need to know Japanese to listen to the songs. I mean, it would be nice to, but overall their voices are beautiful and their songs are amazing. Dionysus has a very Greek feel to it (obviously)…something you would actually hear in Greece for the most part.  And the seductive pose he has on the cover…lol that just seems so typical of the flirt. Melissa has a very pop sound to it, which in this case, it’s actually decent. Who knew a once doll-turned human would have such a nice singing voice?

Thor’s song is incredible! I absolutely love it. First hearing it on the game after finishing his love route, I had to find it. It’s very techno, which is weird because he’s such a quiet god. I love his voice, and you hear more of him in the game and his song more than you IMG-0453do in the anime. It’s so weird. Akira, I don’t know what to say. He’s not even close to being a favorite, and not disrespecting the voice actor at all, his voice is really strange. Akira has a very feminine look to him, and then he has a really deep voice.  His song comes as a surprise because you will hear Thor’s song first, and then suddenly it turns into this really slow song. It’s actually okay, but not the best song out of all of them. His and Balder’s. I can’t stand Balder and for that reason I don’t bother hearing his song.

Moving onto bae…oh, I’m sorry…Takeru and Tsukito. I’m going to discuss their original CD from the first game, because there really isn’t much to say about it, apart from the fact they sing together and not solo. I fell in love with Uemara Yuta’s (Tsukito) voice. IMG-0456OMG, he has the voice of an angel. He seriously does. I’ve never heard anything like it before.  Takeru’s song is in the anime. It took me awhile to recognize it because it’s instrumental in the anime. But Tsukito has a nice calm song, and Takeru has a pop/rock song. There is some really good guitar playing in it that’s for sure. If you’re a huge Kamigami no Asobi fan, and collect songs from all sorts of anime, these are definite must haves.  All the guys that sing have actually been in other anime that are very popular. The covers are very nicely illustrated and they actually have the lyrics written inside.

Yes, Takeru and Tsukito actually have a third CD (as well as the others). And these are a IMG-0458complete swap. Takeru sings a beautiful slow song, rather than the upbeat song in the other album and Tsukito sings an upbeat song. I think I prefer this album over the other JUST slightly, but either CD cheers me up. Like I said, you don’t need to know Japanese to actually enjoy the songs. You pretty much know who they are singing about or singing to. Still looking for the other Gods character songs like this one, so until I find them, this is the only one I can review for now. But I’m pretty sure they are just as enjoyable. Here, enjoy the eye candy on this CD cover :D.

Onto the Greeks. Hades and Apollon actually have really good songs. Hades has a semi-heavy metal song with church bells playing occasionally and forgive me, but Daisuke Ono also has a beautiful voice. The problem is with his voice, there are several characters that sound very similar. Such as Hades and Sebastian from Black Butler. Other than that, he sings beautifully, and makes you look at Hades in a whole other way. His song appears in the IMG-0457anime, but in an episode that focuses on Hades and Yui. Apollon’s song is kind of silly, but Miyu Irino has such a sweet voice as Apollon. I think that was the idea, because his song sounds like something you would hear coming from Disney. Not that it’s terrible, but that’s just how his song is. It’s pleasant and will lift your spirits up on a bad day. It should be noted too, that the flowers that are wrapped around each god, are those that represent them. Apollon has the sunflowers, Hades roses, etc.

I might as well just say Loki when I talk about Loki and Balder’s album. It’s not much help really, but at some point I will listen to his song. Loki has a strange sound to his song. It reminds of jazz really. They may have used that kind of music to try and fit it with Loki’s personality. The song is pretty fast paced, so Loki sings pretty quickly with the music. It’s very enjoyable and Yoshimasa Hosoya doesn’t disappoint. He breaks right into character and keeps it going throughout the song.

The CD that surprised me the most was the Egyptians. Thoth and Anubis both have really good songs, but Thoth has the slightly more enjoyable song. There are brief moments where you can hear the Egyptian music in the background, especially in Thoth’s song. Anubis’ song oddly leans towards a tween song. I wouldn’t say Anubis is a child, because obviously he isn’t, but he is very childlike. It’s actually hard to imagine a tough guy like Thoth sing the way he does, but he’s actually got a really pretty singing voice. It’s the first time that he isn’t getting smart or having a small temper issue. Thoth’s song is similar to that of Hades and Takeru, where it’s got heavy guitar playing in it. Anubis’ song….it really is hard to explain how it sounds because it really doesn’t sound like the others…at all. These are all very good songs/CD’s, some better than others but overall not one is bad.
