I went to this anime/gaming convention this past Saturday in Pennsylvania and discovered a gem of a figure. Out of all the Jotaro figures I had come across on Amazon, I actually hadn’t seen this one. Maybe I just didn’t look hard enough. But surprisingly there was a whole lot of JJBA figures up there, and I actually had a hard time choosing between Jotaro and a Joseph figure. I chose Jotaro.

This one is really different from the Jotaro figure I already have. Sure it’s smaller…BUT it comes with his stand, Star Platinum which is amazing in itself. The detail of Star Platinum is beautiful and one of the reasons I picked this one up. It wouldn’t be Jotaro with that incredibly grumpy look on his face, which definitely makes an appearance on the figure.

The shirt is incredibly detailed, and that purple is really pretty up close. Jotaro is in a great action pose. It’s as though he’s leaping over Star Platinum, which he most likely is. This figure came in separate pieces so it had to be completely put together. It was kind of tricky, especially that of Star Platinum’s hand and the flame circle.

I am having trouble getting his chain on his coat to stay on, but when getting the box open, I saw there were no instructions on how to put the figure together. Usually it’s very easy to put one together, but with very small pieces such as the chain, or getting the figure holder to stay in place…it could be useful to have directions in those instances.

The coat flows wonderfully, and I just love that jumping position. This is a very impressive figure. It’s not like those typical figures that stand there and look almost expressionless…sort of like Goku behind Jotaro in this picture. This figure brings out all of what Jotaro and Star Platinum are–both are angry, doesn’t take any guff from anyone, and very active when it comes to fighting.

Jotaro and Star Platinum was a more pricey figure, but I got it from an anime convention and not on Amazon. Though, I can say the dealers that go to Otakon in D.C. have a lot better prices than what I saw in Pennsylvania. I felt, though, that this was one of those harder to find figures, and that if I wanted it, just get it. So I did, and I don’t regret it. Jotaro is awesome, and Star Platinum is one hell of a Stand. The rating for this would be five stars, but because of those very very small issues with the chain and the figure holder, the rating is 4.5.
