This page is about the awesome Kurapika figure I purchased early last month. First off, I am soooo sorry for the long wait of my review postings. School has started back up and with homework assignments with heavy amount of reading, I may be a little more slow on the reviews and such, so please bear with me. That just shows how long winter break actually was when I had been able to blog more often.
So I collect anime figures besides other merchandise, as we all know. Hunter x Hunter has grown on me; it’s a bit different from other series. Kurapika is interesting because he is not like
Gon and Killua at all. When he first meets Leorio, they don’t get along very well. Anyway, I’m rambling.
Banpresto made it, and they also made the Gotenks figure I purchased. Gotenks looked amazing, and Kurapika is no different. He is dressed in his standard outfit and he does have chains on his hand. Kurapika has red eyes, which is shown in the anime once in awhile.
He comes fully intact and on a stand, so you don’t have to put pieces together. Not that there’s anything wrong putting figures together; that’s actually fun to do, but that doesn’t mean its not as detailed as
others. The figure stands about 7.6 inches tall. I love the blue and gold/yellow of his tabard/tunic outfit, it is very accurate to the one seen in the anime. Not only does it stand out in the anime, but it really stands out on the figure. Just like the character, his facial expression is quite serious, and there is a whole story as to why Kurapika is so serious.
He has a mission, and he definitely carries it out with the help of Leorio, Gon, and Killua. This seriousness can be seen in his face on the figure.
When it comes to the hair, I love the style of his hair. There is a nice flow to it that gives off the notion that he is about to let those chains fly from his fingers.
He has a youthful, yet somewhat girly face to him, which a lot of series has that one character with that appearance. Such as Armin in Shingeki No Kyojin. The detailing of Kurapika over all is
really nicely done, and is a great addition to any anime collection. Especially for the fans of Hunter x Hunter.
The pricing is really nice too. As I did my research on Hunter x Hunter figures, Kurapika was the most affordable at the time, and because I liked the character, I decided to purchase it. All the figures I have purchased, have come from Japan, so sometimes the wait is a little bit longer than others.
As to adding it to your collection, I would strongly recommend it.
