School is finally over for the semester, so now I can focus on my blog again! There have been a few new things here and there and now for the small hiatus, I have to see where I left off in the anime view and review. Now on to the newest merchandise review!

It’s Yoko Littner by Prannoi! After buying Kamina a while back, I had been trying to look for other Gurren Lagann figures that didn’t cost an arm and a leg, but still looked nice. Kamina was a little over a hundred dollars, but he was a new release for one thing, and he’s very hard to find in general.  Yoko however was about fifty including the shipping cost. This figure is available on Amazon, and besides having a 5 star rating, other people posted pictures of their copy. Sometimes it’s hard to see what you will get from Amazon, since occasionally there will be one sample image of that product.

Yoko is exactly how she appeared in other reviewers purchases, and she’s actually very tall too. She’s a bit taller than Kamina as well. The details on her is amazing, and she has Boota holding onto her bikini top. I love Gurren Lagann in general, and felt Yoko was a really strong female character despite the fact she was half naked in the beginning. That and I tend to ship her and Kamina. Everything is pretty much accurate when it comes to her facial features, hair, the weapons and her outfit.

The hair looks like it’s flowing, instead of just sitting there glued to her head. The red color is so pretty and really stands out if you have a light or white colored background. The colors of her irises are amazingly accurate as well. Some people might ask how that could possibly be important. Well…there are figures I’ve seen that don’t have the perfect color, and it throws the figure off a bit. Yoko’s eyes actually show her personality perfectly and looks as though they are twinkling.

The chest. Oh yes, the figure definitely has the proportions right. It’s already well established that her bikini top barely holds her in to begin with, but with this figure, it looks like Boota is trying to pull it off of her.

I always liked her neck scarf. The colors are pretty and they go well with the hair color. People might look at this figure and wonder why she would fight anything or anyone wearing that.

Her shorts also leave nothing to the imagination, and the creators of this figure stayed true to the appearance of those as well. The coloring is good, and of course, so is the details. The shorts sit so low on her hips that you can almost see “plumber’s crack.” But I guess in this case to guys who love Yoko, it would be a “sexy” thing. I wouldn’t know about that though.

It wouldn’t be Yoko without her thigh highs and ankle boots. To me, the complete accuracy of something like these isn’t as important as say…the facial features and hair shape/color. Those are the things most people look at first.

Yoko comes it two guns, one being a handgun and then the other being her rifle that rests on her forearm. She comes with a base in which she is standing on the gundam’s hand, and she fits into it smoothly.  The guns were a *little* bit of a struggle . The instructions were on the box, and they were simple enough to follow.

It’s just the question of “Will they actually fit in her hands without breaking?”

Seeing how I had had really bad luck with that same thing with my Mikasa figure; it was very nerve-wracking to get those guns in her hands. Unlike the Mikasa figure though, Yoko’s fingers moved gently enough that you can put her weapons in her hands without using too much force. I’m sure someone can find some way of turning that into a dirty innuendo joke.

So is this Yoko Littner version worth getting? I say yes, definitely! Especially if you are a die-hard Gurren Lagann fan and you haven’t gotten this figure yet. It’s an older figure which I discovered when I looked at the box. This was originally released when it was the five-year anniversary of the show being released. But it is definitely worth buying. It’s a definite 5-Star figure.
