Ebay definitely comes in handy when you are looking for extremely hard-to-find anime merchandise. Especially if it’s fan books for otome/ reverse harem series. Brothers Conflict has a fan book, which I never knew about. Kamigami no Asobi yes, but I was really surprised to find Brothers Conflict listed on eBay. So I purchased it and I found it really nice.

What’s really good about it, is that you don’t *need* to know Japanese to know what the book is about.  Especially if you have watched the series.

The book consists of character descriptions, names of the brothers (naturally), “scene pickups” of each brother. So they each have two pages for themselves. This includes cute little chili versions of them as well. The book has more in it then I had expected, and includes images from the games; which you can see the likenesses and at the same time, differences of the appearances of the brothers and Ema.

Yoshimasa Hosoya has always been my favorite seiyuu, so Yusuke is my personal favorite…with Iori coming in at a close second. So I was really happy to see these guys in the book with quite a few pictures.

The book also consists of storyboard images, and how they prepare each scene by drawing them. It gives you an idea just how much time is put into each scene and episode of the series. But this could be said about other anime series as well.

We see the opening and closing credits in the book as well, which I always liked in fan books. Especially the ending. For some reason, I have always preferred the ending credits to Brothers Conflict instead of the opening credits. Maybe it’s because it’s the actual seiyuus that sing.

Fan books in general are, in my honest opinion, one of the best books to get when it comes to anime series. Sometimes there are things in it that you’ve never seen before, and so that is a really nice thing about these books. For instance the game. The games are somewhat hard to find; I was fortunate to find both games at Otakon last year, and so I picked them up pretty much as soon as I saw them. I haven’t yet played it; I’m trying to find translations like I was able to find for Kamigami no Asobi. But from what I looked at, the visuals are really nice.

The fan book overall is very nice with many pictures, and it’s always good to see different images then the same ones over and over again. The cost wasn’t too bad; roughly $25.00. When I browse at these books in general, a lot of places charge more than they are worth.

Which in this instance, I would say, if you are looking for fan books to collect, this is the time where you should look on eBay more than anything. Chances are there are some you want to find, and if they are no longer in print, chances are you WILL be able to find it on eBay. If not: there are Japanese sellers where you may be able to find them as well. On that note, I will leave this review with an adorable blushing Subaru.
