Episode eight repeats the moment that happens at the end of episode seven and we see Tsubaki’s total look of horror/shock when Azusa is out cold on the floor. Tsubaki only finds this out when they are fighting and Azusa collapses. Luckily, Masaomi comes in and
sees Azusa’s condition, and Ema asks for his help. While he calls for an ambulance, Tsubaki can only look on.
Tsubaki and Azusa have always been close, and it seems Tsubaki can forget about their argument and worry more about him then stay angry. Azusa is admitted into the hospital and has to stay there. Masaomi basically tells Ema that Azusa is heavily sedated and will be asleep for the night, and that she can go home. He says that Tsubaki will need to be told, but not to worry, and mentions that Natsume should be told as well. Ema tells him that she will call him. Masaomi tells her that her being there has been a great help.
Ema calls Natsume and lets him know, and arrives home to see Tsubaki upset on the couch. He tells her he feels nothing; as though Azusa wasn’t there at all. Tsubaki tells her
how there is a saying how siblings that are born together share a soul. He says he doesn’t sense Azusa around.
Tsubaki feels like he placed Azusa in the hospital by the way he acted and what he said. He says Azusa has always stopped him from doing things, such as hurting Ema with words, and Tsubaki talks down about himself. Ema suggests he goes to visit Azusa and Tsubaki says he can’t. He knows Azusa would forgive him, but he can’t forgive himself.
Ema stands outside her room with Juli and tells him that Tsubaki still hasn’t recovered from his shock at Azusa. Juli even admits it’s hard to see Tsubaki in such a depressing state, despite his attitude in general.
We don’t see Natsume as much, but when Ema goes to see Azusa at the hospital, Natsume is with him. Azusa comments that she came to see him, and he seems happy about it. Ema brings a bag of clothes thanks to Ukyo and Azusa thanks her for coming to see him.
Meanwhile the other brothers are in their living room, and Ukyo asks Masaomi if it was true that Azusa could have visitors. Masaomi says he is more stable but he’ll probably be
in the hospital a little bit more. Wataru is highly upset and doesn’t want him to die. Yusuke realizes Ema was visiting Azusa and said he would have gone to see him as well.
When Tsubaki comes in, Masaomi tells him that Azusa can have visitors and Tsubaki quietly acknowledges him. His phone rings, a call from his manager and he walks away, leaving the others quiet and concerned.
This is when it gets a bit weird. It’s like a dream within a dream. Tsubaki is in bed with his phone constantly ringing and he picks it up and he gets frustrated when the manager suggests replacing Azusa. Yusuke and Futo are taunting him, sitting on both sides of him,
saying that Tsubaki wanted the role for himself. It was a dream, and he sits up quickly in bed. Masaomi is sitting across from Tsubaki and informs him that Azusa had died.
Again, Tsubaki jumps up in bed, realizing THAT was a dream too. He sees Ema and starts to tell her that he had a strange dream, and then Ema turns and tells him she can’t go out with him. This was a dream too, and he jumps up and sees Natsume standing next to him. Seeing how many nightmares Tsubaki had, he decides to pinch and pull on Natsume’s cheek.
Natsume tells Tsubaki that he came to check up on him.
Azusa tells Ema that he has meningitis and goes on to explain to her what it is. He says the timing was bad work-wise but there was no point in worrying about it. He says to her that he should barely have after effects after he is treated. Ema tells Azusa that it’s the same as always back at home.
Azusa can tell something is wrong and he asks Ema about Tsubaki. She tells him that the whole situation has been bothering him. Azusa asks how she feels about Tsubaki as a man, and Ema says she was grateful that Azusa came to her aid when Tsubaki was getting into trouble with her. She loves Tsubaki as an older brother, but doesn’t see him
as a man.
Azusa admits he loves her, and Tsubaki was right about him was butting in. He pulls Ema in for a close hug and then she seems uncomfortable. He notices this and quickly apologizes. He tells her several of the brothers have feelings for her, that it’s not just Tsubaki. I absolutely love Azusa…even though he feels determined like the others, he at least talks to Ema so politely and protects her.
But when it comes to all of the brothers, Yusuke is the one I feel really, really bad for. You just know he and Ema would be good together, especially since they are classmates and Yusuke had been lusting after her even before they became step-siblings.
Natsume is still talking to Tsubaki, complaining how much of a mess his room is. Tsubaki likes the chaos of his room, and Natsume then asks if he was going to visit Azusa. When he says no, Natsume questions what had happened between them, and also asks if it had something to do with Ema.
Masaomi is looking at his phone when Yusuke and Ema come into the room, and Juli hops onto Ema’s shoulder, telling her that Masaomi looks confused. When he shows Ema the list Azusa had made, it was all anime DVDs and novels. So Yusuke and Ema spend the day together shopping for Azusa. Ema shows up at the hospital with the things Azusa asked for and she hears Tsubaki talking to Azusa. They basically tell one another that they missed each other.
Tsubaki and Azusa have an amazing relationship as brothers. They are close, and seem much happier when the other is around. Not many brothers get along as well as those two do. Natsume sees Ema leaving the hospital and gives her a ride. He tells her, after finding out Tsubaki went to see Azusa, that the managers for the anime series had decided to replace Azusa with Tsubaki. Natsume asks her to keep smiling for them as it seems to give both brothers strength. Even though he is a twin with Tsubaki and Azusa…he doesn’t seem to be as close to them as they are one another. Then again, Natsume seems to have a difficult time talking with a few of the brothers.
Ema goes to see Azusa the next day and gives him his books and DVDS. She tells him that Yusuke had helped her, and was going to come but his exams were bad so he was taking lessons. Azusa says that sounds like Yusuke. He is proud of Tsubaki and admires him for the work he does, but now he has deeper feelings for Ema, and doesn’t want to lose to his brother. He tells Ema there’s no hurry in telling him how she feels, but he will wait for it. He hugs her again and kisses her lightly on the forehead. Obviously…Azusa is starting to feel better. This ends the review for episode eight! Stay tuned for more.
