I’m slowly getting through Brother’s Conflict now, and there are OVA’s to review as well once the episodes have been covered. If any of these reviews feel rushed, they aren’t intended to be that way. They are supposed to be a brief summary without containing major spoilers or leaving things out that may be important to know beforehand. I seriously am loving this cute series; possibly as much as Kamigami no Asobi. I have to add…although Ema can be kind of irritating at times, she is nowhere near as bad as Yui Komori in Diabolik Lovers.

The episode is titled “Photos” and it starts with Yusuke and Ema standing outside of their school, watching students walk past them. It’s an entrance ceremony, Yusuke makes a comment that they have the word “kid” written on their faces. Meanwhile Ema tells Yusuke she wonders if they acted like how the new students are two years prior.

Azusa shows up dressed up nicely and greets Yusuke and Ema. They are surprised at how he looks, and Yusuke asks what the deal is. Azusa explains all the other brothers were unavailable, so he was given the “role” of being a bodyguard.

It turns out Futo is going to attend the school with Ema and Yusuke. After Futo acts like he doesn’t know who Ema is, the scene quickly goes to Juli, who suddenly has a bad feeling inside. And as usual he starts panicking, being the overprotective squirrel that he is.

Ema tells Yusuke it’s going to be a lot more livelier at the school now that Futo is attending, and Yusuke comments how laid back Ema seems to be. It doesn’t seem like he’s thrilled that his own brother will be at the school with him. Ema comments that Futo will be her underclassmen while Yusuke will be her classmate. You can’t blame Yusuke for being annoyed; Futo, no matter how cute he may be…is the most annoying brother out of the bunch.

Yusuke brings up the event of Ema attending Subaru’s basketball game, and he said it seems since then that there is a weird feeling between her and Subaru. There is a flashback of Ema with Subaru and Natsume’s reaction to that. Ema suddenly leaves Yusuke, and discovers Futo sleeping under a tree. She crouches down and almost touches him, but hesitates.

He starts moaning in his sleep; calling her and says if she does that, he won’t be able to control himself. Ema wonders what he is dreaming about, and she starts to reach out to him and he suddenly grabs her and looks directly at her; seeming as though he planned for this to happen. Futo laughs and asks her how did she like his acting.

He suddenly stands up and tells her that he’s grown taller and now has an advantage; and he presses her against the tree but gives her a chance to run from him. She doesn’t move, and Futo tells her he’ll have his way with her. The guy comes off as a creep, and starts moving in to kiss her, but instead he blows in her face.

Back at their home, Yusuke is annoyed that both he and Ema had no idea that Futo was attending their school. Meanwhile Masaomi is looking through pictures of the entrance ceremony Ema had taken. Kaname whispers to Ema that he would like her to take photos of him…if it were just him and her together.

Masaomi takes note that no one else would have thought of taking photos of a sibling’s entrance ceremony if it weren’t for Ema. Ema says she would print the pictures out for all of them, and this is actually when the title of the episode comes in. Masaomi not only finds their mother’s picture frames, but old photos as well. The first one Ema sees is a much younger Masaomi holding baby Yusuke. Yusuke realizes this and tells Ema she shouldn’t be looking at that.

There are photos of Natsume and Subaru, and Kaname tells Ema that Subaru was stuck with Natsume…in other words, they were very close to one another. Yusuke finds a photo of Azusa when he was younger, and it’s blurred… Everyone starts commenting how rare it was that Azusa would be by himself, so it’s assumed Tsubaki took the picture. He asks them not to talk about the photo he took like trash and Ema agrees. Seeing she doesn’t have a lot of photos from when she was younger, she felt envious to see all the photos they had.

Azusa is so sweet and asks Ema if she wants the photo. Everyone is startled by that, and Azusa gets flustered and apologizes. Ema smiles and tells him she would like it, and he turns a cute shade of pink. Of course Tsubaki has to jump in and pick on him. He tells Azusa later before going to bed that even though they were brothers, he wasn’t going to give up on Ema.

Ema is coming home the next day planning a meal to make, and she stumbles upon Natsume and Subaru at the house. Natsume senses that Subaru is unhappy with him for the past, and he insists that Subaru if he takes basketball that seriously, he should not get distracted by unnecessary things. Subaru raises his voice and accuses Natsume of not thinking about him but more about Ema.

Natsume turns to leave and he sees Ema lurking around the corner. She apologizes for hearing them, and he shakes it off, telling her not to let Subaru’s words bother her and he was upset. He gives her a sample game to try and tells her if anything comes up, just to call him.

Azusa finds Ema getting ready to go to her room and stops her. He gives her a photo album so she can fill it with her memories, since she told them she didn’t have any photos. He also tells her it’s a way of thanking her since his anime project is starting. Azusa tells her he wouldn’t have been able to play the role if it wasn’t for her, and he would have hurt Tsubaki as well. Ema feels comfortable talking to Azusa and wonders if that’s how talking to a big brother is really like.

Ema puts photos together in her album and Tsubaki enters the room with his script. He gets flirty with Ema, and then says it’s a scene in his script. Suddenly it turns pretty serious and he admits his true feelings for Ema, kissing her before taking her to the couch. He tells her he loves her…and here comes Azusa to the rescue… he pulls Tsubaki off of Ema, and mentions they were supposed to rehearse the script together.

The evening turns somewhat bitter and tense, leaving Ema to be confused as to what is going on around her. Azusa tells Tsubaki he should go to bed. He then tells Ema he is in no position to yell at Tsubaki…as he feels the same way as Tsubaki does. That ends episode 6. Stay tuned for the review of episode 7!
