Episode 3 begins with a refresher on what happened in the last episode, in which she spotted Futo in the DVD rental store. She had forgotten he was a pop star and greeted BCEmaJuliEpisode3him pretty loudly. Ema is standing at her bedroom door with Futo standing next to her, Juli on her shoulder. This guy is really showing off his bad qualities, saying he’ll have her do things to him in her bedroom. Juli doesn’t like this one bit, and doesn’t want Ema to open the door and let him in.

Juli starts to get angry and Futo asks Ema to “put that thing away” and is concerned that he will scratch his face. Ema and Futo end up watching a movie together. Ema notes how Futo is usually on the other side of the television; she doesn’t know what to do in this circumstance.

He points out a scene in the movie and she asks if it was where the protagonist was asleep…Futo begins to explain to her how sometimes just walking and sitting shows how BCYusukeEp3good people can act. He admits he’s not that good yet.

Yusuke comes to her door and discovers her door had been open. He opens the door, saying he’s coming in, and discovers Futo trying to kiss Ema. Of course, Yusuke gets angry and confronts them; Ema said there is nothing going on, they were just watching a movie.  Yusuke drags Futo off and Ema almost forgets about Juli.

Juli is angry with Ema, and sits in a tree when Louis approaches him. Juli asks if he can understand him. Louis says yes and then asks if Juli can hear him out. We don’t hear all the conversation but it ends up Juli and Louis working together to protect Ema.BCEmaYusukeEpis3

The next scene is Yusuke in classroom thinking about what school he wants to go to after graduating, and Ema asks him if he is having a hard time choosing a school. Yusuke is caught by surprise, as he was in deep thought. Yoshimasa Hosoya is really, really good at these kind of moments. It’s believable actually, and he makes it very Amusing at the same time.

The episode looked like it was going to focus on Iori and Kaname, at least that’s what it seemed like in the opening sequence. Never assume it’s going to be like the episode before…this is with any anime really. Because the previous episode had Subaru and Yusuke in the BCKanameEpi3beginning, it did actually focus on those two.

Kaname comes to the classroom to assist in Yusuke’s and Ema’s choices of university. He notices Ema had picked the school that Subaru goes to, and she tells Kaname it’s just coincidence after he makes note of it. He then finds Yusuke’s choice slot is empty. It’s simple because he wants to go to the same school as Ema.

Time passes quickly and it’s the day of Ema’s father’s wedding. She was sent  a present by her soon to be stepmother, and it was a box with a dress and shoes in it. This is when she meets Hikaru, who is the fourth son, but dresses like a woman. But there are occasions in BCEmasdressEpi3upcoming episodes where he is actually himself, and it startles Ema, as it did in this episode.

Ema opens the box in her bedroom to find the dress and shoes, and it comes across as the brothers’ mother, Miwa Asahina is excited to have the chance to have a daughter. The next day, Ema is excited about finally becoming an actual family, and she thinks about it when Louis comes to Ema’s door. He offers to do her hair and makeup since she is going to be wearing a dress to the wedding (obviously).

Ema goes into the chapel and comes across Natsume, who comes over to her quickly, telling her the chapel is for friends and family. He is unaware that she will be his stepsister. Tsubaki saves the day by calling out to her, and she turns to see all of the BCYusukeSubaruEpi3others dressed in tuxedos…except for Hikaru, who is in a dress. All of them compliment her wearing the dress, while Subaru’s expression shows how he really feels. Even Futo is very complimentary. Natsume demands to know what is going on; apparently not one of the brothers told him about Ema. Tsubaki tells Ema that Natsume is his and Azusa’s younger twin, but a fraternal one from a different egg.

Natsume apologizes after the wedding and gives Ema his business card. She notices he works at a gaming company, and also realizes they made her favorite game. Natsume is BCguysEpi3surprised at this, and offers her to test samples of games. He asks about Subaru after Subaru walks past, who gives him a dirty look.

Natsume tells Ema that he heard Subaru hadn’t been doing well, and that he had been dropped from the starting lineup in basketball. Ema wonders to herself if it was the accidental fall or kiss that was bothering him.

Ema takes photos at the reception of everyone there. She’s about to take a picture of Subaru and stops. He approaches her and asks to speak to her. He apologizes telling her he never BCguys2Epi3thought she was a pain. Once that is cleared up, Ema’s stepmother throws the bouquet…and Ema catches it. All the brothers were standing there, and Tsubaki always says something to get the others fired up.

The end of the episode is a sweet ending, and all the brothers welcome her to the family.

This is actually a really good anime, and you feel for both Ema and each brother. There are all sorts of emotions throughout each episode, and sometimes you just get sucked right in to watch another episode to see what happens next.

Stay tuned for the review of episode four!
