We’re almost at the end! I am really curious on how this series is going to end. Since it’s been announced there will be a four episode OVA, I’m thinking a lot of questions won’t be answered until those episodes come out. It would be really nice if they end up doing a second season, but I don’t think that will happen. This series has been so enjoyable, and the characters are all likeable…even the hot-tempered Kariu. I’ve learned if you look at anime series on Crunchyroll and think it sounds interesting, go for it and watch it. That’s actually how I found out about ReLIFE and now I’m hooked.

Episode twelve begins with Arata heading to school, and Hishiro greets him. They begin walking together and Arata mentions how she was the one to come up and greet him IMG-1818first. He thinks to himself how much she has changed. It’s obvious Arata is starting to struggle with the idea that this whole experiment will be over with, because he keeps thinking about it. As he’s walking along with Hishiro, An comes running up, grabbing onto Arata and startles him. Hishiro greets her by basically calling her the four eyed girl with braids. Apparently she is still not good at greeting others. An tells Hishiro she knows her name and just call her it. Yoake comes running up and pulls An away, leaving Arata and Hishiro to walking together again.

Arata seems happy that summer vacation will be starting, and then finds out from Oga that he will have to take make-up exams during summer. And this shocks Arata, as he most likely was not aware that could happen. Oga said he would be there because he is IMG-1823taking the entrance exams for college. This causes Kariu to panic a little, as she may be afraid he won’t be going to the same college as her. All throughout the series, she has been struggling with how she feels about Oga. It is this episode we finally see how Oga feels about her. When she asks about it, Oga tells her he may just continue on to Aoba college, which Arata remembers that it is affiliated with the high school.

It’s during class that Arata studies the others and realizes they will all be together at college and actually thinks “lucky them”. He realizes what he thought to himself, and tells IMG-1826himself he isn’t part of it. It seems that the episode is focusing more on the struggles Arata is starting to have (even more so than before) and Oga’s struggle with telling Kariu how he feels.

That evening, An, Yoake and Arata end up drinking at Arata’s place. He asks why they always end up drinking there. An explains that due to their appearance, they can’t go out and drink, or even buy it. Yoake says they can get it through the lab though. Arata thinks at this point both An and Yoake are horrible adults. Yoake reveals that he and An will be at summer school alongside Arata, as part of their job is to study and come across believable as students. As the discussion moves towards the issue of Kariu and Oga, An and Arata want to move things along with those two. Yoake stays quiet and then asks if IMG-1830they know how Oga feels. Yoake tells Arata he could even get a girlfriend as he is just an illusion, and it wouldn’t really matter as not one of them would remember him. This actually depresses Arata a little.

After the discussion with Yoake and An, the next day Arata has lunch with Oga in the classroom and he brings up the subject of Oga’s love life. This causes Oga to jump in shock, wondering why Arata brought that up. Arata wonders who Oga could possibly like, and misunderstanding the question, Oga replies with “Everyone!” He reminds me of Apollon in Kamigami no Asobi, in the way he answers things, and is kind of ditzy. Meanwhile, as Arata is lecturing Oga on love, Oga has Kariu on his mind. Arata tells him that studying is important, but finding love is important too.

Oga asks Arata if he’s ever kissed a girl, and he says yes, causing Oga to be shocked. He is IMG-1831surprised because the way it’s implied, he thinks no one would kiss Arata because he’s dumb. Later on, Oga and Arata are walking outside and they see Kariu with an older guy. Arata recognizes the guy as the one he met at Saiki’s grave. Oga goes into panic mode, especially when he sees Kariu start to fall and the guy catches her. He rushes out to approach Kariu and the guy, and Kariu is surprised to see him.

The guy (obviously involved with a Yoake and An scheme) tells Oga that Kariu had suffered from slight heat stroke and that he walked by at the right time. He leaves it to IMG-1832Oga to take Kariu home, which he does. And he thinks back to what Arata told him about holding hands with someone.

Later in the evening, Oga is shown sitting on his bed and he is deep in thought about things that Arata discussed with him. He texts Arata, asking him what should he do, because he is in love with Kariu. Meanwhile, Arata yells happily that the budding romance between Kariu and Oga is finally happening.

When they are back in school the next day, Arata asks Oga about the fireworks festival, and suggests he confesses to Kariu there. Oga still seems nervous about the whole thing, and asks them all for advice, because he doesn’t know where to begin. Oga comes across so adorable in this episode, especially when Arata discusses love with him, and then he realizes he loves Kariu. This whole series has been a tease when it comes to Kariu and Oga… especially the episode when Kariu hurt her ankle. You just want them to get together sooner than later.  Stay tuned for the final episode review!
