Sentai Filmworks has released one of the most amazing DVD box sets I have seen . It contains 600 minutes, clean openings and endings of the anime, and more. It also features a small art book, apron, and pins. There is one case that is strictly the DVD version and the other case is Blu-ray.

The price is a bit hefty, BUT you get so many things in the set, that it is worth it. When you open the lid, it looks like a bento box, which is really cool looking and creative. Inside are the pins, actual chopsticks and an apron, which is actually a decent size and really nice material. These are a few things one would expect from an anime about food and cooking.

It is a limited edition set, so it will most likely sell out soon. This actually happened with Black Butler season one set in a totally different situation; but it was going out of print so a LOT of people bought it, and FUNIMATION had to restock more for those that also ordered it. So never hesitate for something that is being discontinued…or is a limited stock. If you go to ebay or Amazon and they have the merchandise, chances are the prices could be a lot higher. Plus, you’re supporting Sentai and they spoil us anime viewers with a lot of good stuff. So support them if you possibly can.

If you are looking for the DVDs and the art booklet in the set, you can open up the bottom in the front of the box and you will find them tucked away nicely. The book is especially very pretty. The first few pages discuss the episodes and towards the back of the book, it has pictures of all the characters from the anime. Having read the manga, this is actually a very good series, and the suggestion: Watch it! People will think…  “Hmm, but it’s about cooking and food…”,  but there is more to it. You have a variety of characters who all have different personalities from one another, and there is always something new going on. And to be honest…the reactions of food dishes is so ridiculous, it’s hilarious.
