When VIZ MEDIA announced that a limited edition JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE  DVD set was coming out, I danced around with glee. Having seen both parts on Adult Swim or Toonami, I grew to fall in love with the anime series. It was preordered in May; literally a day AFTER VIZ MEDIA announced it was available for preordering. There was no way I was going to ignore this one.

It was announced that the release would have been in July, but seeing as I ordered it from Best Buy, I was notified by them it would be delayed just slightly. Now on to the main topic: JOJO!  It is a very beautiful set for the price it is. There are other sets out there that are “Limited Edition” or “Special Edition” but for some, are outrageously priced. JOJO is certainly not that. It comes with a book featuring a lot of the artwork from parts 1 and 2 of the first season.

Some people may wonder if it’s worth getting at the price. YES!!! The little artwork cards are just beautiful; the cards are actually a perfect size. One side will have Jonathan Joestar and the other will have Dio. There are at least two cards with Jonathan and two with Joseph.

This set is definitely made for the ultimate JOJO fan. As anime series go, JOJO is one of the

best I have come across, and it definitely deserves a package like this. The book has 160 pages of artwork and includes comments from the directors of every single episode. To me, it feels like a lot of dedication and care has been put in to make this set what it really is. And it is simply….amazing. If you haven’t seen JOJO, and have heard of it, watch at least one or two episodes and you’ll be hooked. It has really intense action scenes that everyone will like. Except maybe the really, really finicky anime viewer.

Now I can only hope sometime in the future there is going to be a set like this for JOJO:Stardust Crusaders… Daisuke Ono voices Jotaro in the subbed version, and he’s one of the most amazing voice actors in Japan. That will be another set I won’t pass up!
